Master of Arts in Christian Studies - Course Details

Aim of the Programme

This programme will help the students to gain special knowledge through six specificdisciplinesinChristian Studies namely, Hebrew Scriptures, Christian Scriptures, Christian Thought, History of Christianity, Contextual Theology and Christian Art.

These areas are designed aiming to improve the higher order thinking of the students to pursue further studies up to M. Phil. and Ph.D. levels.

 The Objectives of this degree programme

Offers the opportunity to gain theoretical and practical knowledge in the six major fields of studies

Enhances the ability to explore and raise awareness on the current issues of the global society for theological reflections and their publication

Offers the opportunities to visit and research relevant texts from the best libraries of Tulana Research Centre and the University of Kelaniya

Provides substantial knowledge in Research Methodology through assignments, seminars and oral presentations

Enhances the capacity for conceptual, critical, comparative and attitudinal thinking
