Commencement of the Master of Medical Statistics degree program
The Board of Study in Multidisciplinary Studies of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Kelaniya, is introducing the first-ever Medical Statistics postgraduate degree program in Sri Lanka. Further details about the program are given below.

In general, medical statistics plays a crucial role in all aspects of healthcare delivery, from clinical practice and research to public health policy and decision-making. It provides the quantitative tools necessary for generating reliable evidence, optimizing patient care, and improving population health. The Master of Medical Statistics degree aims to provide practices of medical statistics in health care and related fields. It is specially designed to deliver a comprehensive understanding of the quantitative techniques in an applicable manner. The use of project-based learning and up-to-date software will allow students to develop essential skills in advanced evidence-based research and policymaking.
This program highly benefits health administrators, researchers (medical/pharmaceutical experiments designing and analysis), policymakers, and those pursuing careers in health administration and policy making.
Applications are invited from 01st March 2024, and the program commencement is scheduled for May 2024.
