Master of Arts in Economics & Master of Social Sciences in Economics

Introduction

Department of Economics of the University of Kelaniya has been conducting Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Social Sciences (MSSc) degree programs since 1998. The courses have been prescribed according to the general regulations for postgraduate degrees offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya. 

1.  Master of Arts Degree Program in Economics by Course Work - One Year Degree Program

2. Master of Social Sciences Degree Program in Economics by Research(Course Work + Thesis) -Two Years Degree Program

Aim of the Programme

The aim of this degree programme is to provide a professional learning experience for those who seek additional skills and knowledge for career advancement and career change.

Objectives of the Programme

To provide graduates/employees with coherent theoretical and analytical skills that requires for current job market in both private and public sector.

Teaching Methods and Evaluation Criteria

Teaching and learning methods: Lectures and Assignments/class tests.

Method of evaluation: Written examination 80% Assignments 20%.
